Customer Service Representative

About the role

Packaging Corporation of America is seeking a Customer Service Representative to join its corrugated packaging business. In this role you will act as the primary point of contact for customers, handling inquiries about product availability, pricing, freight rates, order status, and billing issues.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, process, and track assigned orders through scheduling and delivery.
• Coordinate with internal departments to ensure order completeness, on‑time delivery, and accurate invoicing.
• Communicate important account information to sales representatives and other stakeholders.
• Respond to customer requests for specifications, quotations, samples, and shipping details.
• Serve as a liaison between customers and design, sales, and production teams to meet requirements and resolve complaints.
• Maintain organized customer files and manage on‑hand inventory levels.
• Investigate and resolve billing complaints, escalating when necessary.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of customer service experience, preferably in a manufacturing or packaging environment.
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to exceeding customer expectations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook.
• Experience using an automated order entry system.
