Customer Service Representative (Citizens)

About the role

The Georgia Department of Revenue is seeking a Customer Service Representative (Level 1) for its Motor Vehicle Division. You will handle a high volume of calls, emails, and other inquiries, using contact‑center tools to provide accurate information and support to Georgia citizens.

Key responsibilities

• Answer inbound calls and respond to emails from the public.
• Use contact‑center software to log interactions and resolve issues.
• Collaborate with multiple teams and units to address complex inquiries.
• Take ownership of tasks, meet deadlines, and follow through on resolutions.
• Assess potential impacts of decisions on various stakeholders.
• Identify improvement opportunities and act without waiting for direction.
• Adapt to shifting priorities and adjust approaches as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of experience handling questions, complaints, or providing information in a customer‑service environment.
• Ability to deliver courteous service, collaborate across teams, and take responsibility for outcomes.
• Strong prioritization, decision‑making, and initiative‑taking skills.

Required skills

• Contact‑center experience (minimum one year).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook.
