Customer Engineer

About the role

As a Field Service Engineer (Customer Engineer) at Applied Materials, you will serve as the direct liaison with customers, installing, maintaining, and upgrading advanced semiconductor equipment. You will use digital analytics for troubleshooting and collaborate closely with senior engineers and customers to ensure smooth operations.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and upgrade customer equipment.
• Apply basic diagnostic techniques with assistance from senior engineers.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and customers to understand roadmaps, process flows, and business challenges.
• Train and mentor junior engineers.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems.
• Coordinate and communicate directly with customers.

Required profile

• Associate degree, military technical training, field service experience, or trade certification.
• 4‑7 years of experience in the semiconductor or equipment support industry.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, and thermodynamics.
• Proficiency with hand tools and digital multimeters.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport.
