Customer Data Steward

About the role

The Customer Data Steward will act as the subject‑matter expert for customer data quality and compliance, bridging business and IT teams. You will enforce governance policies, manage data lifecycle, and ensure a trusted golden record for the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Define, implement and enforce business rules, data‑quality and compliance requirements.
• Monitor data usage, identify risks, and resolve data‑quality exceptions using SQL scripting.
• Analyze patterns to refine automated cleansing rules and maintain the golden record.
• Apply MDM concepts to guarantee consistency of critical business data.
• Collaborate with data owners, custodians and working groups, escalating issues as needed.
• Create and maintain data dictionaries, metadata and lineage for transparency.
• Provide training on governance policies and support BI reporting for senior leadership.
• Assist with special projects and promote a collaborative team environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Data Science or equivalent experience.
• 2‑4 years of experience in data stewardship, data governance or business analysis.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to act as a bridge between business and IT.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working on cross‑functional teams and handling conflict resolution.
