Custodian/Housekeeper

About the role

Join the Seldovia Village Tribe (SVT) team as a Custodian/Housekeeper for the seasonal period May‑September. You will be responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming interior and exterior spaces of the SVT Administration and Conference Center.

Key responsibilities

• Cover staff absences and perform routine cleaning of carpets, tile, linoleum, countertops, and woodwork.
• Sanitize high‑touch surfaces, bathrooms, kitchens, and public equipment using sterile methods.
• Wash windows, walls, ceilings, doors, and exterior surfaces as needed.
• Empty and sanitize trash containers, and manage waste removal from buildings and parking areas.
• Keep sidewalks and doorways clear of debris; coordinate snow removal and de‑icing in winter.
• Assist with set‑up, storage, and light maintenance tasks such as changing bulbs and moving equipment.
• Maintain confidentiality, lock buildings when required, and report safety hazards promptly.
• Replace batteries in wall clocks and ensure proper timekeeping in exam rooms and reception areas.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred (not mandatory).
• 2+ years custodial experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Alaska driver’s license.
• Willingness to undergo CPR training and annual TB testing provided by SVT.

Required skills

• CPR certification

What we offer

• Seasonal employment up to 35 hours per week, May‑September.
• Starting wage of $18 per hour, adjusted for experience.
• On‑site work at the SVT Administration and Conference Center in Seldovia.
• Provided training for CPR, TB testing, and proper use of personal protective equipment.
