Custodian Supervisor (University Facilities)

About the role

The Custodian Supervisor A leads the daily custodial operations for a university campus facility of 200,000‑300,000 sq ft. This classified position ensures that cleaning standards are met, staff are trained, and the building remains safe and presentable for academic activities.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule, assign, and supervise custodial crew activities.
• Inspect work for quality and completeness, including pressure washing, window cleaning, and exterior surface care.
• Provide orientation and ongoing training for new employees.
• Manage key control for campus buildings and classrooms.
• Document time, leave, evaluations, disciplinary actions, and supply requisitions.
• Coordinate preparation and disassembly of areas for special events.
• Report building and equipment repair needs to the Customer Service Center.
• Transport staff, supplies, and equipment using agency vehicles as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum two years experience in custodial, housekeeping, groundskeeping, or food‑service work.
• Physical ability to lift at least 20 lb, walk, stand, bend, and navigate stairs throughout the shift.
• Willingness to respond to emergency situations and campus closures.
• Ability to complete a physical evaluation based on job demands.
