Custodian - Albany Capital Center

About the role

The Albany Capital Center is looking for a custodian to carry out a wide range of physical cleaning tasks for general and specialized cleaning of the facility. The position is open to applicants who can work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Clean all areas of the facility, including floors, bathrooms, walls, windows, offices, stairs, seating areas, ramps and walkways inside and outside.
• Follow the housekeeping team's policies and procedures.
• Operate facilities equipment such as hand power tools, floor scrubbers, sweepers and vacuums.
• Know the facility layout well to make the best use of storage and cleaning methods.
• Help set up a routine preventive cleaning and maintenance program for the interior and exterior.
• Assist staff in operations and perform other tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to perform various physical tasks.
• Previous custodial experience in a similar facility is preferred.
• Able to access all areas of the facility and handle a heavy workload in a busy environment.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Required skills

• Knowledge of cleaning and custodial methods and techniques, including the use of chemicals and equipment.
• Ability to operate mechanical equipment.
