Currency Operations Lead

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York is seeking a Currency Operations Lead to oversee the daily processing of currency and coin between depository institutions, central banks, and governmental counterparties. This senior position is based onsite in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and plays a critical part in maintaining the safety and efficiency of the nation’s cash infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise a team responsible for payments, receipts, and currency/coin processing.
• Plan, coordinate, and schedule resources to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Compile reports and monitor performance metrics to meet high operational standards.
• Support business resiliency through continuity planning and capacity building.
• Participate in system workgroups and lead project initiatives.
• Research, clarify, and resolve routine operational issues across multiple processes.
• Foster an innovative culture while maintaining strong regulatory controls.

Required profile
