Criminal Law Paralegal (Remote, Full-Time)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Criminal Law Paralegal to join a U.S. law firm on a fully remote basis. The role supports misdemeanor and felony defense matters from intake through trial, requiring strong litigation and drafting abilities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with criminal cases, handling intake, discovery, and trial preparation.
• Draft motions, pleadings, subpoenas, notices, and other legal correspondence.
• Review and organize discovery materials such as police reports, body‑camera footage, and witness statements.
• Prepare case chronologies, exhibit lists, and trial materials.
• Coordinate hearings, depositions, plea negotiations, sentencing, and trial events.
• Communicate with clients, witnesses, courts, prosecutors, and experts.
• Track court dates, filing deadlines, and case milestones.
• Submit filings through electronic court filing systems and manage digital case files.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a paralegal, lawyer, or attorney.
• At least 2 years working with a U.S. criminal law firm.
• Hands‑on experience with misdemeanor and felony matters.
• Strong understanding of criminal court procedures and filing deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• High attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information.
