Criminal Justice Instructor – Faculty Position

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a dedicated Criminal Justice Instructor to join its Criminal Justice Program. This faculty position involves delivering high‑quality instruction, supporting student success, and contributing to program development across both online and traditional classroom settings.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare weekly learning plans aligned with established student outcomes for each course.
• Deliver course content using effective oral and written communication and current criminal justice practices.
• Develop and finalize syllabi and Blackboard course sites using department templates.
• Maintain classroom supplies and equipment to support a productive learning environment.
• Submit final grades, attendance records, and other required documentation in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with institutional, TCSG, and accreditation standards.
• Advise students on academic pathways and career opportunities.
• Participate in recruitment, enrollment, retention activities, and departmental committees.

Required profile

• Earned master’s degree or higher in criminal justice from an accredited institution.
• Minimum three years of paid work experience in the criminal justice field or teaching.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Commitment to student success initiatives.
• Ability to assess student and program learning outcomes.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Blackboard Learning Management System.
