About the role

MuscaLaw, a criminal defense firm in Sarasota, is looking for a full‑time attorney to join its team. The role can be staffed directly or on a subcontract basis and involves representing clients in state and federal criminal matters.

Key responsibilities

Provide defense representation in criminal cases, including court appearances, motions, and negotiations.
Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
Collaborate with investigators and experts to build case strategy.
Maintain client communication and manage case files.
Travel as needed for federal court appearances.

Required profile

Bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction (required).
5–7 years of experience in criminal defense, preferably with prior public‑sector work.
Willingness to commute to or relocate to Sarasota, FL.
Ability to work full‑time schedule, Monday‑Friday with occasional weekend availability.

Required skills

Legal research.
Legal drafting.
