Creo Designer – Mechanical Design for Automotive

About the role

We are seeking experienced Creo Designers to join our automotive product development team in Wauwatosa, WI. The role involves creating detailed mechanical designs for sheet metal, plastic and casting components using Creo’s full suite of tools.

Key responsibilities

• Develop concept models and detailed parts using Creo Part, Assembly and Surfacing modules.
• Design sheet metal, plastic and casting components for automotive applications.
• Produce detailed drawings, dimensioning and tolerancing compliant with GD&T.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, suppliers and cross‑functional engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle.
• Support engineering change management, prototype development and product release activities.
• Participate in design reviews, validation and documentation processes.
• Drive design optimization, cost reduction and value‑engineering initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of mechanical design experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
• Proven hands‑on expertise with Creo CAD tools.

Required skills

• Creo Part Modeling, Assembly and Surfacing.
• Surfacing, GD&T, DFX/DFA concepts.
• Design of plastic, sheet metal and casting components.
• Automotive product design processes.
• Prototyping, ECN, PPAP documentation.
• Reverse engineering, fixture and gauge design.
• Stack‑up analysis, VAVE activities, sheet metal press tools.
• Exposure to DFMEA and DVP&R is a plus.
