Credit Risk Manager – Central Bank Services

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago is seeking an experienced Credit Risk Manager to lead its Central Bank Services portfolio. This senior position oversees financial conditioning monitoring, reserve analysis, and payments system risk, ensuring robust internal controls and effective risk mitigation.

Key responsibilities

• Direct daily operations of the Credit Risk Management unit, coordinating with depository institutions, regulatory agencies, and the Board of Governors.
• Develop performance goals, conduct appraisals, and provide coaching and career guidance to staff.
• Lead hiring decisions, salary recommendations, and staff development initiatives.
• Implement strategic initiatives, communicate priorities to senior leadership, and influence organization‑wide decisions.
• Account for internal and external audit outcomes and ensure compliance with Board reviews.
• Participate in system‑wide work groups, propose policy changes, and guide project analysis.
• Manage budget planning, monitoring, and division scorecard updates.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree with equivalent experience in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
• 7–10 years of relevant experience, including management or people‑leadership responsibilities.
• Proven ability to work independently, solve complex problems, and provide strategic direction.
