County Extension Agent – Family & Consumer Science/4-H

About the role

The County Extension Agent – Family & Consumer Science/4‑H will design and deliver community‑based educational programs that promote nutrition, family well‑being, health, food safety and economic self‑sufficiency for residents of Columbia County.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and present practical workshops and outreach activities on nutrition, health, food safety and family economics.
• Collaborate with local volunteers, community leaders, agencies and government officials to encourage participation and support.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the county’s social, economic and political characteristics.
• Serve as a liaison between the University’s Division of Agriculture and county stakeholders.
• Document program outcomes and report to the Division of Agriculture.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of the social, economic and political landscape of Columbia County.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse community members and volunteers.
• Commitment to the mission of the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture.
