County Extension Agent – Family & Consumer Science

About the role

The County Extension Agent – Family & Consumer Science will design and deliver community‑based educational programs that promote nutrition, family well‑being, health, food safety, and economic self‑sufficiency. Working within a county, the agent will partner with local volunteers and stakeholders to increase participation and impact.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and present practical workshops, demonstrations, and outreach events on nutrition, health, and family economics.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of the county’s social, economic, and political landscape to tailor programs effectively.
• Serve as a liaison between the university’s Extension Service and local community leaders, organizations, and volunteers.
• Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteer educators to extend program reach.
• Collect and report program data to assess outcomes and inform future initiatives.
