Counselor 3 – Vocational Rehabilitation

About the role

The Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency (GVRA) is seeking a Counselor 3 to provide high‑visibility vocational rehabilitation services to individuals with disabilities. Working from the Johns Creek office, you will guide clients toward competitive, integrated employment while collaborating with community partners and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Interview potential participants to assess interest and eligibility for VR services.
• Conduct comprehensive needs assessments, develop individualized employment plans, and authorize services.
• Review and interpret educational, vocational, psychological, and medical documentation.
• Travel within assigned areas to meet clients, providers, and partners.
• Provide ongoing counseling, job‑search assistance, and case management until successful employment outcomes are achieved.
• Monitor client progress, ensure timely service delivery, and maintain accurate case records.
• Educate the public, agencies, and vendors about GVRA services.
• Mentor and train junior counselors and supervise graduate interns as needed.
