Counselor 1 – Supported Employment

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a Counselor 1 to provide vocational rehabilitation services to individuals with disabilities. Working under direct supervision, you will help participants achieve competitive, integrated employment outcomes while traveling throughout the assigned service area.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain referral sources to expand service reach.
• Conduct interviews with potential participants, reviewing education, vocational, psychological, and medical information.
• Travel within the caseload area to meet clients, providers, and partners.
• Determine eligibility, conduct comprehensive needs assessments, and create individualized employment plans.
• Guide participants through the rehabilitation process, set employment goals, and facilitate job search activities.
• Monitor client progress, ensure timely service delivery, and document all activities in the AWARE system.
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with departmental guidelines.
• Provide public education about rehabilitation services and process authorizations and invoices.

Required profile

• Willingness to work under direct supervision and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
