Cost Estimator

About the role

The Cost Estimator is a full‑time remote position responsible for developing accurate cost estimates and budgets for construction and development projects. The role involves reviewing drawings, specifications and project documents to understand scope, quantities and material requirements, and collaborating with project managers, construction teams and leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications and project documents to determine scope, quantities and material needs.
• Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and perform takeoffs.
• Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Update estimates as project information evolves and support bidding, value engineering and financial planning.
• Track historical cost data and refine estimating tools and templates.
• Maintain alignment between project budgets and actual performance.

Required profile

• U.S. work experience is mandatory.
• Strong cost management and cost control abilities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Proficiency in project estimation and budgeting from conceptual through final design.
• Advanced analytical skills to interpret data, assess risks and compare cost scenarios.
• Experience with construction or real‑estate development projects and familiarity with trades, materials and market pricing.
• Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy and organizational skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication, able to present assumptions to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., cost estimating or construction management) are a plus.
