Cost & Decision Support Analyst

About the role

The Cost & Decision Support Analyst will join the Finance department at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) to provide analytical support for cost management and decision‑making across hospital operations. This position works closely with finance teams to ensure accurate cost accounting and to develop data‑driven insights that guide strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and report on cost data for clinical and administrative services.
• Develop and maintain decision‑support models to evaluate financial impacts of projects and programs.
• Collaborate with department leaders to identify cost‑saving opportunities and improve financial performance.
• Prepare regular and ad‑hoc financial reports for senior management.
• Ensure compliance with university and regulatory accounting standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in cost accounting, financial analysis, or decision‑support functions.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills for presenting findings to non‑technical audiences.
