About the role

The Department of Juvenile Justice seeks a motivated Corrections Food Service Supervisor III to lead the food service program at the Illinois Youth Center in St. Charles. The supervisor will oversee menu planning, food preparation, and staff training while ensuring compliance with health, sanitation, and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and monitor food service staff in preparing, serving, and storing foods according to established health and safety protocols.
• Plan, schedule, and publish menus for general and therapeutic diets, adhering to a master menu and portion control guidelines.
• Make independent decisions regarding food quality, supply needs, and inventory management.
• Train youth in the facility on basic food service skills and hygiene practices.

Required profile

• Previous experience in food service operations, preferably in a supervisory capacity.
• Ability to lead by example, provide instruction, and maintain a safe, sanitary work environment.
• Strong organizational skills to manage menus, supplies, and staff schedules.
