Corporate Financial Controller

About the role

We are looking for a Corporate Financial Controller to lead all financial operations for Nonni's Bakery in Chicago. The role provides strategic financial guidance, ensures accurate reporting, and maintains robust internal controls as the company continues its growth in the food and beverage market.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the monthly, quarterly and annual close processes and maintain the closing calendar.
• Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP and IFRS, review journal entries, balance‑sheet reconciliations and cost allocations.
• Lead the annual budgeting cycle, ongoing forecasting and variance analysis, partnering with department heads to meet financial targets.
• Oversee domestic and international tax filings, including federal, state, provincial, sales and use tax, property tax and R&D tax credit calculations.
• Develop and enforce internal controls, safeguard assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate end‑to‑end audit engagements, act as primary liaison with external auditors and provide required documentation.
• Monitor cash flow, cost structures and key industry KPIs to support strategic decision‑making.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting and tax compliance within a mid‑size or larger organization.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data and drive performance improvements.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with senior management and external partners.
