Corporate Counsel – Franchise Law

About the role

Compass International Holdings is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join its Franchise Brands Legal Department. The attorney will support a portfolio of leading real‑estate franchise brands, providing legal guidance on franchise sales, renewals, marketing, disputes and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate and review franchise agreements, addenda and related documents.
• Assess marketing materials for legal compliance with federal and state franchise regulations.
• Advise senior management on strategic franchise initiatives and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with Franchise Sales, Finance, HR, Compliance and Cross‑Brand Marketing teams.
• Coordinate with corporate legal functions such as Litigation, IT, IP and Employment Law.
• Identify potential legal issues early and propose solutions.
• Provide thought leadership on process improvements and oversee junior lawyers and paralegals.

Required profile

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Minimum 7 years of legal practice, with substantive franchise law experience.
• In‑house legal experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational detail, ability to work independently and interact with all management levels.
• High integrity and alignment with company values.
