Coordinator of Fitness Operations

About the role

The Coordinator of Fitness Operations supports the Assistant Director of Fitness in overseeing daily operations of the Student Recreation Complex. This position ensures the fitness floors are well maintained, supervises student staff and personal trainers, and contributes to a welcoming, community‑focused environment for thousands of LSU students and members.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and train student Fitness Assistants and Personal Trainers.
• Provide direct support to members participating in personal training programs.
• Manage fitness equipment, resources, and floor maintenance.
• Recruit, interview, hire, schedule, and evaluate new student staff.
• Promote best practices in fitness and wellness aligned with the university’s mission.
• Enhance the overall member experience and foster a sense of community on the fitness floors.

Required profile

• Strong ability to guide and supervise student staff.
• Excellent organizational skills with a sense of urgency for task prioritization.
• Passion for improving user experience in a fitness setting.
• Familiarity with innovative fitness and wellness practices.
