Co‑op Packaging Engineer – Plymouth, MN (Jan 2027)

About the role

Philips is offering a paid co‑op position for students pursuing a bachelor’s degree. As a Packaging Engineer Co‑op you will work on medical device packaging projects, collaborating with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Marketing and Operations teams to support product launches and ongoing business.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the design, testing, troubleshooting, specification creation and validation of medical device packaging to ensure product integrity and safety throughout the supply chain.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing and regulatory, to ensure packaging meets all regulatory and quality requirements such as FDA and ISO standards.
• Stay current with industry trends, materials and technologies and recommend improvements to packaging solutions.

Required profile

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong interest in medical device packaging and product development with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Basic understanding of packaging design principles and material science.
