Cook – Healthcare Facility in Benton

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a Cook to join the food service team at its Benton/Bryant health facilities. The Cook will prepare nutritious meals for patients, staff and visitors in a fast‑paced hospital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and plate meals according to UAMS nutrition standards and dietary restrictions.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen following HACCP and infection‑control guidelines.
• Monitor inventory, receive deliveries, and ensure proper storage of food items.
• Collaborate with dietitians and nursing staff to accommodate special dietary needs.
• Document production and assist with menu planning as required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training preferred.
• Prior experience in a hospital, institutional, or large‑scale food service setting.
• Ability to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Required skills

• Food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Ability to follow recipes and portion control guidelines.
