Cook - Food and Beverage

About the role

Legends Global, a partner to live events, venues and brands, is hiring a Cook for its Food and Beverage department in Laredo, Texas. The cook reports to the Food and Beverage Manager and works at the Sames Auto Arena. The role covers preparing food to order, serving guests and keeping the kitchen safe and efficient.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare hot and cold food to order according to standardized recipes.
• Provide high-quality service to guests and co-workers at all times.
• Follow food handling techniques and temperature danger zone guidelines to ensure food safety.
• Set up the station before opening based on historical par levels and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Store and handle raw and cooked foods and non-food supplies properly, using FIFO rotation and keeping a sanitizer bucket at the right dilution.
• Wrap, label and date products correctly.
• Operate equipment such as knives, grills, flat tops and fryers safely, and cook the exact number of items ordered.
• Distribute food to the concession cashier or attendant and request inventory refills on time.
• Assist with opening and closing inventory counts and clean the station at the end of each shift.

Required profile

• One-year certificate from culinary school or comparable experience; high school diploma or GED preferred.
• Attention to detail and ability to adapt to change, competing demands and delays.
• Compliance with health codes.
• Able to work flexible and irregular hours.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Required skills

• Reading and interpreting recipes and prep lists.
• Reading safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Basic knife skills.
