Controls/Systems Engineer

About the role

Ryan Herco Flow Solutions, a SunSource company, is a distributor of fluid control systems, fluid filtration systems, fluid handling products, micro-electronics and general industrial supplies. It is looking for a Systems Engineer for its Tualatin, Oregon location. Under the direction of the Director of Engineering, the engineer works independently and/or as part of a team to develop, design and engineer fluid handling and process piping components, systems and products for internal manufacturing and customers, with a focus on industrial, semiconductor and biomedical applications.

Key responsibilities

• Perform all work safely and promptly report safety issues to management
• Engineer products requested by sales, marketing and management using CAD tools
• Specify components and materials for customer projects and internal product development
• Create documentation packages for specified products
• Provide technical support for manufacturing and for customers
• Carry out engineering work according to EMI's change control procedures
• Support management as requested and comply with company policies and procedures

Required profile

• Engineering degree (preferably ABET accredited) in electrical, mechanical or chemical engineering, able to meet EIT requirements
• Level II: valid EIT certificate or 3-5 years of engineering experience; Level III: working toward or holding a PE license
• Working knowledge of fluid handling and process piping components, materials, chemical compatibility and machine/process automation
• Working knowledge of electrical panel design and assembly to UL508 and CE/EU standards

Required skills

• SolidWorks (Level II: SolidWorks PDM); 2D design with AutoCAD, Visio or similar
• Electrical panel design and assembly
• PLC/PAC/HMI programming on platforms such as Allen Bradley, Emerson/GE IP, Omron, OPTO22 and Automation Direct (Level II)
• Expert use of MS Office Suite (Level II)
