Controls Engineer, EMEA Controls

About the role

Amazon’s Global Services team is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, develop, and commission building automation systems across its EMEA facilities. The role combines technical engineering with customer‑focused scope definition to ensure reliable, efficient control of HVAC and other building services.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret electrical and control diagrams, building operation specifications, and industrial HVAC schematics.
• Gather customer requirements to define project scope, specifications, and deliverables.
• Develop bill of materials (BOM) for control panels and create ISA sheets for transmitters, valves, and instrumentation.
• Produce detailed drawings for control panels, power distribution, junction boxes, and cable routing plans.
• Design logic diagrams in International Automation format for PLCs and Distributed Control Systems.
• Prepare cable routing schedules and oversee testing, inspection, and commissioning of facility systems.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support new and existing products.
• Provide technical assistance to internal customers and coordinate cross‑functional work.

Required profile

• Background in construction management, mechanical, electrical, or related technology fields.
• Ability to think strategically and align control solutions with broader business objectives.
• Strong analytical skills for interpreting specifications and translating them into practical designs.
• Experience working both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
