Controls Engineer – Building Automation (EMEA)

About the role

Amazon’s Global Services team is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, develop and commission building automation systems across its EMEA facilities. The role focuses on integrating electrical and control engineering solutions to improve operational efficiency and the overall customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret electrical and control diagrams, building operation specifications, and industrial HVAC schematics.
• Develop scopes of work, specifications, and BOMs for control panels and related equipment.
• Create ISA sheets for temperature, level, flow, pressure transmitters and for control valves, positioners, and analytical instruments.
• Produce detailed drawings for control panels, power distribution, junction boxes, and cable routing plans.
• Design logic diagrams in International Automation format for PLCs and Distributed Control Systems.
• Perform inspection, testing, and commissioning of facility automation systems.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align engineering solutions with customer needs.

Required profile

• Background in construction management, mechanical, electrical or related technology disciplines.
• Ability to translate customer requirements into technical specifications and scope documents.
• Experience working on complex controls platforms and building automation projects.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail when developing engineering documentation.
