Controller – Manufacturing Finance Leader

About the role

We are partnering with a growing manufacturing company that needs an experienced, hands‑on Controller to lead accounting and financial operations. The role combines strategic oversight with day‑to‑day tactical execution to drive profitability and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting functions: general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, month‑end and year‑end close.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Manage manufacturing cost accounting: standard costing, variance analysis, inventory valuation, labor and overhead allocation.
• Analyze performance, margins and operational KPIs to support business decisions.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies and procedures.
• Partner with plant leadership to improve efficiencies and reduce costs.
• Coordinate annual audits, tax filings and compliance requirements.
• Monitor inventory controls and support cycle counts.
• Support ERP enhancements, implementations and reporting optimization.
• Supervise and mentor the accounting team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required).
• CPA and/or CMA preferred but not mandatory.
• 5+ years of accounting leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory accounting, GAAP and financial analysis.
• Experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing setting.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and leadership abilities.
• Effective communication with finance and operations teams.
