Controller – Lead Accounting Operations

About the role

We are a growing, privately backed operating company seeking a hands‑on Controller to lead our accounting operations. This high‑impact position partners closely with executive leadership to build scalable processes, improve systems, and drive overall business performance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, month‑end close, and financial reporting.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash‑flow management.
• Build and enhance accounting processes, controls, and reporting capabilities.
• Partner with operational leaders to support strategic decision‑making.
• Manage and develop an accounting team.
• Drive process improvements and system optimization.
• Support ongoing growth initiatives and organizational scalability.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 2+ years of accounting leadership experience.
• Proven experience improving processes and building scalable accounting functions.
• Inventory accounting experience preferred.
• Experience in operationally intensive industries such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, home services, construction, distribution, manufacturing, or hospitality preferred.
• Strong business acumen and executive presence.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
