Controller

About the role

Davies North America is seeking a hands‑on, detail‑oriented Controller to lead full‑cycle accounting operations and drive financial excellence across a distributed team. This senior finance professional will ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, safeguard assets, and support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Manage general ledger, consolidations, intercompany eliminations, reconciliations, accruals, and month‑/year‑end close.
• Oversee financial reporting to internal leadership and external clients, ensuring U.S. GAAP and regulatory compliance.
• Lead, mentor, and develop remote accounting teams across time zones.
• Design, implement, and monitor internal control policies and SOX‑related frameworks.
• Coordinate audit and tax activities with external auditors and advisors.
• Partner with FP&A and operations for budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
• Drive process improvement and automation using ERP and reporting tools.
• Lead ERP (Sage) implementations, integrations, or transitions.
• Provide strategic accounting insight to executive leadership and support M&A, restructuring, and global expansion projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA certification.
• Progressive accounting experience with leadership or controller‑level responsibilities.
• Experience managing remote or global accounting teams (preferred).
• Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal control frameworks; SOX exposure a plus.

Required skills

• ERP (Sage) proficiency.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with accounting automation tools.
