About the role
AeroVect is seeking its first in‑house finance leader to own and build the accounting function from the ground up. You will be responsible for delivering GAAP‑compliant financial statements, managing multi‑entity consolidation, and supporting rapid growth in a venture‑backed, autonomous‑ground‑handling startup.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the full monthly and annual close process, aiming for a best‑in‑class timeline.
- Prepare GAAP‑compliant financial statements for board and investor reporting.
- Manage intercompany transactions and consolidation across US, UK, and Canadian entities.
- Own revenue recognition for a mixed hardware‑software business (ASC 606) and hardware COGS accounting, including inventory, BOM costing, and depreciation.
- Evaluate, select, and implement a modern ERP and supporting finance tools (billing, AP automation, expense management).
- Build automated workflows to streamline close, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors for US, UK, Canadian, and transfer‑pricing compliance.
- Oversee debt facility reporting, covenant compliance, and interest calculations.
- Establish internal controls appropriate for the company’s stage and support external audit readiness.
Required profile
- 6–10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including 2+ years at a venture‑backed startup.
- Experience as the sole or primary finance person in a 30–150 employee company.
- Strong technical accounting expertise: revenue recognition (ASC 606), inventory, multi‑entity consolidation, intercompany eliminations.
- International accounting experience covering the US and at least one non‑US jurisdiction.
- Ability to produce investor‑grade financial statements and board packages independently.
- CPA certification.
