Controller – Hedge Fund Accounting & Finance

About the role

Hurricane Capital is seeking a Controller to lead and enhance its accounting, financial reporting, fund accounting, and internal control functions. The role is pivotal in maintaining the financial integrity of a fast‑growing multi‑manager hedge‑fund platform while partnering closely with senior leadership, investment teams, and external service providers.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, expense management, accruals, reconciliations, and cash activity.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
• Review fund accounting deliverables such as NAV calculations, capital account statements, investor allocations, and financial statements.
• Coordinate with third‑party fund administrators to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
• Assist with audit, tax, and regulatory filings, working closely with external auditors, tax advisors, and legal counsel.

Required profile

• Strong technical accounting background with experience in hedge funds or alternative investment management.
• Ability to operate both strategically and hands‑on in a growing organization.
• Proven track record of managing complex financial reporting and fund accounting processes.
• Excellent collaboration skills to work with senior leadership, investment teams, and external partners.
