Controller – Financial Reporting & Operations Lead

About the role

The Controller reports directly to the CFO and will be instrumental in shaping the company’s financial strategy. You will ensure accurate, timely reporting and drive system and process improvements in a fast‑paced, PE‑backed environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations: general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and revenue recognition.
• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and produce GAAP‑compliant financial statements.
• Prepare internal and external reporting packages for the board, lenders, and investors.
• Develop and maintain internal controls, policies, and compliance with audit requirements.
• Partner with FP&A to deliver insights on variances, forecasts, and key business drivers.
• Support budgeting, cash‑flow forecasting, liquidity, and working‑capital monitoring.
• Manage external audits, tax filings, and relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and lenders.
• Assist the CFO with financial modeling, due diligence, and M&A activities.
• Implement and optimize ERP systems and automation to scale with growth.
• Build, mentor, and develop a high‑performing accounting team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; active CPA license.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years as a Controller or senior finance leader.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, consolidations, and internal controls.
• Experience in high‑growth, fast‑paced environments; acquisition integration and international operations a plus.
• Proven track record leading audits and ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Advanced Excel proficiency and experience with ERP implementations (e.g., NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and project‑management abilities.
