Controller – Finance Leadership in Manufacturing

About the role

Hunter Douglas is seeking a hands‑on Controller to lead all accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and internal control activities for Expert Shutter Systems (ESS). This senior finance role partners closely with plant operations, supply chain and division leadership to drive financial performance in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual close processes, delivering accurate P&L, balance sheet and cash‑flow statements in compliance with GAAP and corporate policies.
• Own the full budgeting and forecasting cycle, including annual operating plan, rolling forecasts and CAPEX planning.
• Provide FP&A support to supply‑chain operations, developing and analysing operational KPIs such as cost per unit, labor efficiency, throughput, yield and scrap.
• Build and maintain dashboards that translate operational data into actionable financial insights linked to P&L outcomes.
• Conduct detailed production‑cost analysis, material usage reviews and capacity‑utilisation studies to identify savings opportunities.
• Partner with operations on make‑vs‑buy decisions, vendor cost comparisons and logistics optimisation.
• Support monthly business reviews with financial commentary, variance analysis and forward‑looking insights.
• Oversee cost accounting, standard costing, inventory valuation and manufacturing finance functions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a controller or senior finance role within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, cost accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with operations and supply‑chain teams to drive performance improvements.
• Excellent analytical mindset with a track record of delivering actionable insights.
