Controller – Finance Leader for Radar & Sensor Technologies

About the role

ARKA is seeking a detail‑oriented Controller to lead the finance function for its Radar and Sensor Technologies (RST) business group. Based in Ypsilanti, Michigan, you will partner with project teams, provide financial guidance, and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and government contract regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accounting compliance with U.S. GAAP and government contract rules (FAR, DFAR, CAS).
• Lead the monthly close process, including journal entries, allocations, and reporting to the parent company.
• Review and analyze percentage‑of‑completion and shipment‑based revenue models.
• Manage direct and indirect rate calculations and approvals.
• Oversee account reconciliations and support internal and external auditors.
• Develop financial models, perform ad‑hoc analysis, and present findings to non‑financial audiences.
• Collaborate across functions and lead a team of finance professionals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related finance field.
• 8+ years of experience in accounting, month‑end closings, and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. Government Contract Accounting (preferred).
• Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
