Controller – Finance & HR Leader

About the role

The HT Group is seeking an experienced Controller to serve as the top financial officer for a growing manufacturer/distributor in the home and commercial services sector. Reporting to the COO, you will oversee all accounting, finance, HR, and administrative functions in a small‑company environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting activities, including general ledger, AR, AP, payroll, inventory, and fixed assets.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Lead the annual audit and act as primary contact for external auditors.
• Drive the budgeting process, track performance versus budget, and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain internal controls, oversee tax compliance, and manage cash flow and working capital.
• Supervise a small accounting team and coordinate with external advisors.
• Serve as HR leader: administer benefits, oversee compliance, manage insurance and banking relationships.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Controller or senior finance leader in a small to mid‑size organization.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Experience managing accounting staff and leading external audits.
• Ability to develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and KPI dashboards.
• Familiarity with HR administration, benefits, and compliance requirements.
