Controller, Business Control

About the role

ASM is seeking a Controller to join its New Products group within the Key Product Unit (KPU). The role will act as a finance partner for business unit leaders, managing operating and capital expenditures, and delivering insights that drive strategic decisions in a fast‑moving semiconductor environment.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with New Products GM and product heads to translate data into actionable insights, scenarios and recommendations.
• Own full P&L support, including revenue, margin, OpEx and strategic investment tracking.
• Lead annual planning, monthly forecasting and close processes, communicating variances and key drivers to senior management.
• Maintain internal controls for R&D capitalization and ensure compliance with financial policies (IFRS preferred).
• Automate recurring activities such as data extraction, forecasting models and reporting workflows.
• Manage Anaplan OpEx forecasting for the business unit and support Capex processes.
• Contribute to cross‑functional finance initiatives that improve planning, reporting and business insight.

Required profile

• Proven experience in finance controlling, P&L management and budgeting for technology or semiconductor products.
• Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to influence decision‑making.
• Familiarity with IFRS accounting standards.
• Comfort working in a global, matrixed environment and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Anaplan for OpEx forecasting.
• Knowledge of IFRS accounting principles.
• Proficiency with AI‑enabled tools for automation and analytics.
