Controller / Accounting Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Controller/Accounting Manager to lead our accounting operations and ensure the accuracy of financial data. The role combines hands‑on accounting work with strategic oversight of cash flow, reporting, and process improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting activities in QuickBooks Desktop, maintaining the general ledger and accurate financial records.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for leadership review.
• Monitor and reconcile bank accounts, balance‑sheet accounts, and other key financial records.
• Oversee full accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and resolution of discrepancies.
• Review, approve, and reconcile employee expense reports in line with company policies.
• Monitor cash balances, transfer funds between accounts, and support payroll, vendor payments, and operational needs.
• Assist with cash‑flow forecasting and provide financial insights for business planning.
• Serve as primary accounting contact during audits and collaborate with external CPA firm.
• Process 401(k) contributions and wage‑garnishment payments.
• Evaluate and improve accounting procedures, strengthening internal controls and workflow efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.
• CPA designation preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, regulatory reporting, and internal controls.
