Controller – Accounting Leadership Role

About the role

This hands‑on Controller position partners directly with the CFO to strengthen accounting infrastructure, processes, controls, and reporting. You will lead a small accounting team while remaining close enough to the details to execute work when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full‑cycle accounting function and oversee the monthly close process.
• Manage corporate accounting, AP, AR, reconciliations, reporting, and related operations.
• Oversee consolidations across multiple entities.
• Partner with the CFO and executive leadership on financial reporting, accounting operations, and process‑improvement initiatives.
• Mentor and develop a small accounting team.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting as the company grows.
• Help strengthen accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, and overall infrastructure.
• Play a key role in an upcoming ERP implementation and related system/process improvements.
• Remain hands‑on and assist the team with detailed accounting work when required.

Required profile

• CPA certification.
• 10‑15+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Prior controllership experience in a small‑to‑mid‑sized company (under $500M revenue).
• Demonstrated experience managing AP, AR, corporate accounting, month‑end close, reporting, and consolidations.
• Stable career history with long‑term impact in prior roles.
