Controller – Accounting Leader

About the role

Starface is looking for a hands‑on Controller to own and elevate the entire accounting function as the company scales. Reporting to the SVP, Head of Finance, you will lead a team and be responsible for close, reporting, audits, controls, systems, and external partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full accounting spectrum: monthly close, general ledger, reconciliations, financial reporting, consolidation, AP, AR, inventory and technical accounting.
• Assess the current state of the function, identify risks and immediate improvement opportunities.
• Bring audits, covenant reporting, tax workstreams and other external deliverables up to date.
• Establish a reliable, well‑controlled close process with clear timelines, ownership and documentation.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, accountants, tax advisors and serve as the primary accounting subject‑matter expert.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading accounting teams in complex or rapidly evolving environments.
• Track record of creating order from ambiguity and scaling processes during growth phases.
• Comfortable partnering with executives, auditors, advisors and investors.

Required skills

• Strong technical accounting knowledge across close, reporting, consolidation and tax.
• Experience with audit coordination and external financial reporting.
• Ability to design and implement robust accounting controls and systems.
