Control Technician – Building Automation & Data Acquisition

About the role
The Control Technician provides technical support for the operation and maintenance of Georgetown University’s automation and data acquisition systems. This role ensures continuous, effective temperature and humidity control across campus buildings while identifying opportunities for energy savings.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and validate data from building automation systems.
- Repair, calibrate, modify, and upgrade electronics, instrumentation, and programming.
- Maintain proper pressurization, humidity, and temperature conditions in research labs, educational spaces, and residential areas.
- Apply energy management and network engineering principles to optimize mechanical system performance.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of mechanical equipment maintenance experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with computerized control systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within small or large teams.
Required skills
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronic, and pneumatic systems.
- Understanding of networking principles and building automation.
- Computer literacy with strong written and oral communication skills.
