Contractor Safety Manager – Hybrid (Contract)

About the role

Airbus is seeking a Contractor Safety Manager on a contract basis to lead the safety management of external service providers at its Mobile, AL facility. The role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on administration of safety software to ensure all contractors meet Airbus North America safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement contractor safety strategies and initiatives across the North America Health & Safety Center of Excellence.
• Integrate external service providers into the regional Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) and ensure compliance with Airbus safety standards.
• Monitor contractor safety performance using established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and report progress to senior leadership.
• Select, configure, and administer contractor safety management software, tailoring the platform to site‑specific risk profiles.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Production, Security and Facilities teams to foster a strong contractor safety culture.
• Report directly to the NA H&S CoE Compliance and Governance Manager.

Required profile

• Proven experience in occupational health and safety, preferably within aerospace or manufacturing environments.
• Demonstrated ability to manage third‑party safety programs and work with senior stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills for tracking KPIs and assessing risk.
• Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.
