Contract Specialist

About the role

KONE is seeking a Contract Specialist to manage high‑risk construction, modernization, service and repair contracts across the Americas. The role is hybrid, combining on‑site collaboration with remote work, and focuses on reducing legal risk while supporting business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Review, analyze, revise and negotiate contracts with minimal attorney involvement.
• Assess terms, conditions and compliance requirements during bidding and contracting stages.
• Research statutory and common‑law issues and serve as the Law Department’s point of contact for contracts.
• Advise branches on order entry accuracy and negotiate insurance or bonds as required.
• Report contract‑related issues, training needs and schedule impacts to management.

Required profile

• 5+ years managing complex commercial contracts with risk‑mitigation focus.
• Bachelor’s degree, Paralegal certification, JD or equivalent experience.
• Exceptional organizational, prioritization and follow‑up abilities.
• Strong analytical, issue‑spotting and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with a customer‑service orientation.

Required skills

• Experience with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with contract administration tools such as DocuSign, Cobblestone and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
• Ability to leverage technology to improve contract review and workflow efficiency.
