Contract Specialist II

About the role

The Contract Specialist II provides primary assistance for administrative actions related to contract management within Texas A&M Engineering's research arm, TEES. The role serves as the first point of contact for contract receipt, ensuring accurate tracking and documentation throughout the contract lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and log contracts in the departmental database, providing initial client responses.
• Collaborate with the Director and Assistant Director to assign contracts and monitor negotiation status.
• Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and guidelines related to contract management.
• Prepare and update budgets, special reports, and other documentation.
• Produce weekly, monthly, and quarterly activity reports.
• Provide administrative and logistical support for department initiatives.
• Maintain and develop department databases and coordinate sponsor vendor system integration.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent education and experience.
• At least two years of related contract or research administration experience.
• Experience with sponsored research or contract management is helpful.
• Familiarity with Maestro ERP, AggieBuy, and Concur is advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Maestro ERP System.
• Working knowledge of AggieBuy.
• Experience using Concur.
• Competence in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
