About the role

We are looking for a Java Consultant to join our New York development team supporting a global bank’s electronic trading platforms. The role involves designing, building and maintaining high‑performance pricing and market‑data applications used by front‑office traders.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop distributed Java applications for pricing and electronic markets as part of a worldwide development team.
• Collaborate with traders, business analysts, developers and external vendors to gather functional requirements and define integration plans.
• Provide second‑line support for front‑office applications, troubleshooting and resolving issues.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from design through testing and deployment.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Java development, preferably in a front‑office trading environment.
• Understanding of Java memory model, multithreading and scalable architecture design.
• Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and large‑scale software projects.
• Knowledge of fixed‑income products such as Treasuries and interest‑rate swaps.
• Experience working in a large international investment bank is a plus.
