Construction Worker II – General Construction & Maintenance

About the role

We are seeking a Construction Worker II to join our team in performing construction, maintenance, repair and remodeling of municipal facilities, parks and other structures. The role involves a broad range of hands‑on tasks across various building materials and systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform rough and finish carpentry, masonry, block laying, painting, plumbing, basic electrical, minor welding, plastering, roofing, tiling, fence installation and sheetrock work on wooden, concrete, brick or metal buildings.
• Construct interior and exterior framing, stairs, ramps and cement structures such as sidewalks, curbs, ramps and fence posts.
• Read and follow blueprints, sketches and diagrams to ensure project specifications are met.
• Repair and remodel interiors, install flooring, paneling, doors, windows and hardware.
• Operate hydraulic and power equipment safely and adhere to all safety procedures.
• Provide on‑site supervision and training to laborers or helpers and respond to public inquiries.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED plus 30 credit hours of specialized training in construction, carpentry, plumbing or welding.
• Minimum two (2) years of general construction experience.
• Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
