Construction Superintendent – Level 2

About the role

Edwards Construction Group is seeking a seasoned Construction Superintendent II to lead complex public‑works projects across California. The role requires full ownership of job‑site operations, safety, schedule adherence, and quality delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead one or more active public‑works projects with annual billings typically over $10 M.
• Prepare, maintain, and update a 3‑week look‑ahead schedule weekly, track progress, and identify delay responsibility.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to document, mitigate, and respond to delays from owners and architects.
• Utilize Procore on an iPad daily for RFIs, submittals, schedules, observations, daily logs, change events, commitments, inspections, punch lists, and more.
• Navigate BIM models and Trimble Connect, providing assistance and training to team members.
• Support PMs in creating and updating Gantt‑chart schedules, tracking submittals, and managing PCOs/CCOs through pricing to final change orders.
• Maintain thorough daily logs covering manpower, delays, equipment, deliveries, visitors, and safety observations.
• Enforce site safety and compliance, fostering a culture of safety and collaboration across all trades.
• Protect confidentiality of project financials and strategic information, sharing only with senior leadership.
• Mentor and lead teams professionally, handling stress with calm, solution‑oriented approaches.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience on large‑scale public‑works or commercial construction sites.
• Strong technical knowledge of construction field operations and safety regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to own project outcomes, drive progress, and meet budget, schedule, and quality targets.
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating with owners, architects, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive project information.
