Construction Superintendent

About the role

RQC, LLC is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead military and DoD projects across San Diego County. Based out of our Carlsbad headquarters, you will oversee daily site activities, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence on fast‑track design‑build contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all on‑site construction work, subcontractors, and field staff.
• Maintain compliance with RFPs, plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
• Control project budget, schedule, and quality throughout all phases.
• Manage daily reporting, documentation, and communication with project stakeholders.
• Enforce OSHA 30‑hour, EM‑385, and STS safety standards on site.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; college coursework in construction management or engineering preferred.
• 5+ years as a Superintendent on medium‑sized projects, with at least 4 years of field or trade experience.
• Experience in design‑build, government, or large commercial construction, especially DoD projects.
• Ability to work onsite in San Diego County; local candidates preferred.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office, Outlook, Internet proficiency.
• Primavera 3/6, Viewpoint, BIM, Revit familiarity.
• CPR, First Aid, OSHA 30‑hour, EM‑385, STS certifications (training can be provided).
• Spanish‑English bilingual ability (desired).
• LEED GA/AP credential (desired).
